The SERVOWOOD project finished its extended weathering.

Last June in a final and last project meeting the three research institutes (HFA; FCBA; PRA) reported their final findings of the outdoor weathering exposures at their sites. This meant the finalization of the extended period of weathering to which a group of sponsors agreed when the project ran out of funding from the EU (from January 2014 till December 2016). At that time the panels had only been exposed for 15 months and had not reached their limit state. To produce more meaningful results by extending the weathering period a group of sponsors agreed to the costs that would bring all panels to a 4 year exposure time. The so produced data were built into a dose and response model that would form the base for predicting the service life of wood-coatings. A web-based application has been developed to simplify the prediction.
